Christmas in East Texas

After Nathan and I got back from Peru the third week of December (blog posts to come), we had a week of work and a mad couple of days to buy Christmas gifts...  Julep (my favorite nail polish company) had some great Christmas sales so I snagged this gold glitter bag filled with polishes and Iphone cover.

I also got my hair cut before Christmas and got bangs on a whim!

Oh how Dallas is so diverse...  Over by the Kosher Kroger, they had a big menorah.  That week I also got a mani/pedi with Rebekah and we had dinner with our care group.  Told you it was a busy week!

Then we were off to East Texas for Christmas with the Cashes!  We played lots of games (including 42 which I am beginning to love), ate a ton of food, and enjoyed time with family.

We started off at the most interested lunch spot-- Circle M Crawfish in Mineola, TX.  It was the epitome of a hole-in-the-wall because it was a trailer with hamster cage shreds all in it-- ha!  It was deliiiiicous, though, and we had quite a spread of seafood.

Every night, Nathan's aunt Danita bought us all sorts of fun stuff for the cousins-- the first night was fake arm tattoos and cigarettes-- hilarious!

All 14 of us stayed at Mimi and Gangan's house so as you can see we were pretty packed!

Christmas Eve we all sang at the small church that Gangan's the interim music minister of.   Susie sang O Holy Night, Bryan/Carol/Jordan/Jared sang Mary Did You Know, and the whole gang sang a Christmas hymn.

Christmas Eve we all went to Tyler and piddled around and had lunch at Posado's.  Susie and I had fun at all the girly shops.

Our gift from Danita that night was mustache lollipops-- love it!

Christmas day, Mimi and the girls cooked a delicious meal of turkey and all the fixins-- we ate and then headed out to see Les Miserables (the boys saw Django Unchained) and it was SO good!  To top it off, when we walked out it was snowing!  It snowed all night (about 3 inches)-- enough for snowballs and playing in the snow.  This Houston girl was one happy camper!

We had to leave the day after Christmas to go back to work... But at least it was beautiful as we left with the leftover snow!

All the while.... Patriot was enjoying Camp Sugar Land!  We missed that precious face!
