PCBC Women's Dinner/Friendsgiving

Recently my friend, Courtney, and I from the Scott Class at PCBC decided to organize our class' table at A Woman's Touch Dinner!  The two of us decorated the table for ten women (class members and teachers).  Our theme was:

A Perfect Pinterest Wedding

Since we got married before the days of Pinterest boards, pins, and super craftiness, we thought it'd be fun to decorate our table using Pinterest wedding pins as our inspiration!  We had a bird cage, Mr. and Mrs. burlap banner, burlap and lace galore, mason jars, striped paper straws, and the finishing touch was having everyone's wedding picture as their place card.

I was so happy how it turned out!!  Women of all ages stopped by our able and just ooh'd and aah'd over it!  Everyone loved looking at the wedding pictures especially.

There were so many beautiful tables at the dinner--

This one really made me laugh: It's about Park Cities moms on the go-- it had magazines, books, fast food bags, and more to describe the life of a Park Cities mom.

Here's our beautiful group!

Me, Emily, Laura (teacher), Casey, Courtney, Elizabeth (teacher), Brittany
Courtney, Candess, Becky (friend)
After the PCBC men served us a delicious dinner, we enjoyed a program with Elisa Morgan, ex-prez of MOPS International.  Her wisdom was profound and all of us left with a lifted spirit about doing what we can to help those around us.  Her program was based off of Mark 14:3-9 "she did what she could."

Last Friday our group of friends all got together to celebrate Thanksgiving... We call it:

Friendsgiving

Blake and Casey were so sweet to host all 16 of us!!  Everyone brought a dish to share so we had turkey and all the fixins.  It was so fun to make memories with new and old friends-- we love our Sunday School class and are so thankful for everyone in it!

I do have to share a funny newly married story (or just a story about men- ha!)...  When Casey asked us to bring a dish to the dinner I asked Nathan if he would make mashed potatoes since I was going to be out of town until right before the dinner.  He is a fabulous cook so I had no doubt it would be delicious.

Well when he picked me up and we got to Casey's house, he grabbed the bowl of mashed potatoes that he'd made the night before.  The COLD bowl of mashed potatoes.  I asked him why they were cold and he said he did it on purpose-- he put them in a melamine bowl so that we could just "stick them in the microwave" before dinner.  Poor guy had no idea that plastic does not go in the microwave.  So we got inside the Watterson's house and had to ask for a casserole dish to heat up the practically frozen potatoes.  It took about 45 minutes but it was well worth it!  He did a great job!  Now Nathan is a little more careful with the dishes he chooses to put our food in :)
