Happy 27th birthday to Nathan!! Last Saturday was Nathan's big day (although we celebrated all weekend). Friday night he opened presents then we had a humongous dinner at Texas de Brazil. We really enjoyed trying all of the different meats-- I had to hold myself back on the salad bar so I could enjoy the meat! We then came home and enjoyed a movie on the couch-- Next week we'll play Top Golf to celebrate some more :)
Saturday we went out to Glen Rose, TX for the Newlywed Retreat with our sunday school class. A family from church was so gracious to let us use their ranch and house for the weekend and have done so for many years for the Newlywed Class.
We really enjoyed hanging out with all of our "old" and "new" friends while we fished, rode 4-wheelers, ate, and played games.
It was so funny... whenever we got to the ranch (around 11 AM), Nathan and I got on a 4-wheeler and checked out the area when we stumbled upon a little pond. He looked at me and said "I've gotta get my fishing rod!" We ended up spending much of the day there!

We also played a few tailgate games and of course Nathan played football with the guys.
After we set our tent up (love using wedding presents!), we had a great BBQ dinner and played more games then had a short devotional together by the campfire. It was a special time for our class as we ended a fun day together.
Sunday morning we woke up with a yummy breakfast and more 4-wheeling/fishing. Then we headed back to the Big D to relax and enjoy the rest of Nathan's birthday weekend (after we picked up Patriot from Urban Paws-- more on that later). We ended up having dinner with my aunt, uncle, 2 cousins, and grandma at Royal China (best Chinese food in Dallas according to the Dallas Observer's 2011 Reader's Choice) which was a nice treat!
Happy happy birthday to my wonderful husband!
Sounds like a great birthday celebration! Now your turn!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like the perfect weekend celebration!
ReplyDeleteQuite a memorable birthday, uh weekend, for Nathan! You know, your parents and their group started out their weekends at "the lake" with lots of fun activities like you guys....but ask your mom how many activities we're into now! Older folks are funny that way!
